Restaurant policies

Cancellation Policy

At John's House, we take card details to secure all bookings and deposits for parties larger than 6, you can do this via a secure link we send through email. Alternatively, you can visit the restaurant in person or call our reservation team for more help securing your booking.

We understand that plans may change at the last minute and we are as flexible as possible should you wish to move or change your reservation. Should you need to cancel your booking, we simply request at least least 48 hours notice to do so to avoid a cancellation charge.

This is because we take bookings up to four months in advance and are regularly fully booked.

There is a cancellation fee of £45 for lunch and £60 for dinner per person will be charged in the event of a cancellation less than 48 Hours before the reservation. If we are able to fill the table within 48 hours before the booking we will waive the fee.

Dress Code

We want our guests to feel as comfortable at John's House as they would in their own homes. We do not have any formal dress code, and most of our guests opt for smart casual. If you need further guidance call the restaurant.

Deposit Policy

If your booking is larger than 6 covers we require a deposit of £45 per person for lunch reservations and £60 for dinner reservations. For Private hire, you will need to provide 25% of your minimum spend which will be quoted upon confirmation of the booking. 

Deposits are non-refundable, and only transferable. (Vouchers are classed as deposits)

Children Policy 

Here at John's House, we cater to a wide range of guests. To ensure we are able to offer a consistent experience, the restaurant requests that children below the age of 12 are not permitted in the restaurant. This includes babies and prams. 

Wheelchair and Disabled Access

The restaurant is located upstairs, therefore we are able to facilitate wheelchair users and disabled guests, with a table in our lounge. The disabled toilet is available to guests located in our teashop on the farm.

Voucher Policy

We offer two types of vouchers; Gift Pro vouchers which are supplied by a third-party company. John's House vouchers are handwritten in-house. Gift Pro vouchers have a 48 hours grace period before guests are able to redeem the voucher. John's House vouchers are available to use immediately.

All vouchers are of monetary value. The price of the menu is subject to change, only the value of the voucher will be deducted.

This voucher features a unique reference code, which must be quoted at the time of booking and redemption. This voucher is non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for cash or refunded. Photocopies will not be accepted and all bookings must be made in advance. 

If you don't use the total value of your voucher we will deduct the amount used and re-issue the voucher. If you need a voucher for the same or the next day please call the restaurant. All vouchers are unable to be used without physical copies. 

Vouchers are non-refundable and only transferable. If your voucher has expired it is void. The restaurant reserves the right to not accept the voucher if the voucher has expired.

Privacy Policy
